A native of Southern California, Heather Moss Murray has a tremendous amount of pride in San Diego and its many establishments. As an attorney, Heather’s goal is to protect the solvency of local businesses and ensure their longevity as they contribute to the vibrant culture of the area.
Heather obtained her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in San Diego, an academically demanding, ABA-accredited institution founded in 1924. Prior to Cal Western, Heather graduated from San Diego State University where she was on the Dean’s List and spent a term studying at the esteemed Oxford University in England. Heather received her B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration and a minor in Political Science with an emphasis in International Politics.
Heather’s path was determined at the age of nine, during a visit to Nestle on career day when she was immediately drawn to the department and role of the corporate lawyers. She believes that educating others about their legal rights is the way to protect the people around her.
To describe Heather as a hard worker is to put it lightly. Throughout six years of higher education, Heather has supported herself financially in addition to being involved in several university programs and extracurricular activities. At Cal Western, she was the president of the school’s Federalist Society chapter, a staff writer for the law school’s publication The Commentary, and a mentor with A.I.M for Law. At SDSU, Heather spent three years volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego while working in a restaurant 30 to 40 hours per week.
After a decade in the service industry professionally, Heather is providing what she discerned over time to be a much-needed service: preventative legal care in order to protect employers against oversights that can turn into class action lawsuits against them. She has witnessed an employer end up in dire straits as a result of lacking legal protection from the onset of business. Heather’s services are in place to help businesses protect themselves from day one and avoid employee claims that can lead to court, the loss of several thousand dollars, and, potentially, bankruptcy.
In her work, Heather draws from her knowledge base in the industry, her legal education, and also her personal life; Heather is inspired by her father who raised her and made the leap from construction worker to general contractor and sole proprietor. She wants to see others succeed in their own businesses and help them avoid making costly errors. This line of work perfectly suits Heather who is well known to family, friends, and those she works with as being a tenacious protector. She is fiercely loyal, dedicated, and a driven individual who takes on the needs of others as if they were her own.
Heather is married to a fellow lawyer and together they enjoy exploring the food and craft beer culture in San Diego. She is also a dog lover, a world traveler, and a skilled debater.
